Porn Addiction
What is “porn addiction?”
Porn addiction reflects a person's compulsive relationship with porn which includes the basic hallmark signs of any other addiction:
(1) an intense and persistent craving to the point of obsession;
(2) loss of ability to control use and ultimately fail when one tries to stop or decrease use;
(3) continued use despite being aware of the adverse consequences.
How can I tell if I am addicted?
One of the most important aspects of recovery is having the ability to choose. Being addicted to porn causes one to lose the ability to decide for themselves whether, when, what, how, and how much of the porn they will consume. The “porn” dominates and calls the shots.
We encourage you to ask yourself: "Is it that I'm not liking what I'm doing or is it that I can't control what I'm doing?
Will I be required to attend 12-Step meetings?
We believe in your ability to practice agency about what your treatment plan looks like. We are not here to determine how you go about your recovery.
Conversely, we look forward to discussing possible options, needs, barriers, and expectations - as we develop your treatment plan, together.
